In reply to <a href="https://mormonfaq.com#comment-9908">Gigi</a>.

GiGi, thanks for your comment. The reason Mormons do work for the dead is to provide ordinances to anyone in the afterlife who might want to avail themselves of them, including eternal marriage. Earth-life is pretty limited and clumsy. It takes us a long time to accomplish anything. Thus, Mormons perform ordinances for members of their own family, back a number of generations. The work is small here, compared with what is going on in the afterlife. The "spirit world" is where we go after we die to await resurrection. There, people have joyous reunions with their loved ones, and a lot of healing goes on in relationships. It is possible to learn a lot there and to make decisions, even repent. The only place in heaven where husband and wife are together is that highest kingdom, the highest level of the celestial kingdom, so husbands and wife are not together in lower kingdoms, at least not in a binding covenant. All of the complexities you mention can be worked out in the afterlife, if they are not settled on earth. Please know that God loves us more than we can ever imagine. Nearly all of His children, even those who have rejected Him, will inherit a kingdom of glory in heaven. Visions of modern prophets have shown that even the lowest kingdom of heaven is glorious beyond description. I hope this helps to answer your question. We all just do the best we can and rely on Christ to make up the difference.

In reply to <a href="https://mormonfaq.com#comment-9914">Rich</a>.

Rich, Mormonfaq is not an official website of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The disclaimer and the identification of More Good Foundation as the owner of the site are printed at the bottom of the page, but it is apparent that the ink color makes these almost invisible. Maybe we can correct that. Answering comments is a matter of time, which we are very short on. We'll try to do better.

Hello,
Your "About" page does not bear any information as to who maintains mormonfaq.com, nor does it contain any contact information. Is mormonfaq.com owned by the church of LDS? If not, who is behind it?

Only 9 'comments' are posted on your "Introducing Mormon FAQ". Why so few? Is the option to reply solely for the purpose of extending a discussion on only these 9 comments?

I'm betting a lot of my questions have already been answered before. Doesn't it make sense to have the whole 'forum' database available & search-able to reduce redundancy? Will be interesting to see if this 'reply' will be posted.
THANK YOU

How could I ever attain the exaltation of the highest Heaven, even if I converted to LDS, I am married to someone who may not convert, and I'm past child-bearing age. Is it possible to get sealed to another LDS male, for the purposes of eternal marriage and family? Or will I be stuck in lower heaven with my current husband.

In reply to <a href="https://mormonfaq.com#comment-1134">Nick</a>.

Thanks for your inquiry, Nick. Mormons are family-oriented and live squeaky-clean lives. Clean language would help, and a knowledge of the law of health, called the Word of Wisdom. They don't smoke or drink and don't drink coffee or tea. In an active Mormon family, family members will strive to be honest, charitable, and respectful. However, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are very approachable and should be forgiving and non-judgmental. Most Mormons will treat you like a friend the second you arrive on the scene, so you can be informal, within the parameters of your training. Mormons characteristically rely on medical care when they are sick, and there are no requirements or restrictions there that you'll need to be aware of. However, Mormon adults who have made higher covenants in Mormon temples wear a special sacred garment under their clothing. Temple garments should be treated with respect as far as possible in the situation. You can read more at http://www.mormonwiki.com/Garments. Also, male members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may hold "priesthood" power (http://www.mormonwiki.com/Priesthood) that enables them to bless the sick by the laying on of hands. There is real power in the priesthood, and sometimes miracles occur. Other times, the recipient of the "priesthood blessing" is calmed and assured, and medical practitioners are blessed through them to know what to do and perform at their best in behalf of the patient. Since priesthood blessings are so powerful, you should step aside if possible to allow a blessing to be given (http://www.mormonwiki.com/Priesthood_Blessings).

Hello my names nick and im currently a student in an emt program. Recently in class we have been charged with the task of finding a religon that we aren't familliar with in the hopes to be more understanding in an ems setting. Simply put are there any things from an ems stand point when entering a home that we should be aware of to improve our level of service. I.E. certain customs or how to address woman, men, children, or ways to make sure we can respect your household but still able to do our jobs. Thank you for your time
